Christwire.Org Warns “Mercury Poisoning” Could Derail Wasilla HS Graduation

The Christian dominionist website Christwire.org, which is dedicated to promulgating “Conservative Values for an Unsaved World,” has weighed in on the controversy that erupted this week when a few Wasilla High School graduating seniors of dubious sexuality objected to their principal’s efforts to save them from the effects of Mercury poisoning.
Christwire, which recently urged menstruating women to stay off the internet for fear that hormonal imbalance puts them at risk for engaging in un-Christian discourse–“Remember women, forgoing negativity and bad language is one of the sacrifices that God asks of us. To be an adherent Christian, you must be committed to forgoing web usage when you are menstruating”—warned that fans of the television show Glee were “creating a Gay-Sharia law in Sarah Palin’s backyard.”
Christwire bemoaned the fact that Wasilla HS principal Dwight Probasco has been “completely thrown under the homosexual agenda Glee bus.”

I have been reading Christwire on and off for about 18months now. Blanche Beecham is by far their most intelligent and talented writer. Her items may not get the PR that some of the other authors drudge up, but her work is most always spot on. Recently she did a piece on selling Arizona to better America’s financial situation that was both brilliant and timely.
WTF??? Where is the witch doctor?
????? Oh I give up. Some people are just crazy. (There’s a reason why Frank Schaeffer – refugee from the religious right and a very good man who’s trying to expose them – named his book “Crazy For God”.)
Mr. McGinnis, this is OT, but do you know anything about a “major D.C. based journalist” who is writing a book exposing the Trig pregnancy? There was an article up about it at Politicalgates (I’m struck speechless again by the photo in it. Were the people in Alaska blind?) but it’s the first I’d heard of it. It seems they’ve already been signed to a bookdeal. I wonder who it is?

Yes, I saw her piece on book burning in the digital age. I’m convinced this person is a well-known savant who is using this site as an outlet for deep creativity.

Ok, I just spent a few minutes on christwire.org. I’m confused. It’s a satire site right? Can someone sum up the site for the obtuse like me.
It is.
I sure hope it is a satire site, because on the linked page about the bridesmaid gifts, the photo of the bride looking like she is wearing a pear bra for a wedding gown is hilarious.
However, I am guessing quite a few right-wing Christian types have been fooled by the site and gotten totally taken in by it. A thought that makes me snicker with GLEE.
One of the contributors leaked the story… has personal knowledge of it.
My favorite atheist forum claims it’s a satire, and they ought to know. Although, if you compare what’s written at christwire with what’s written at rapture ready, a very serious (and scary, in my opinion) fundie site, you won’t find much difference. I think it’s some of the links to ads that give it away. They had a killer article a while back about how cats were satanic. I realize that’s not a new idea to christians but they had a great take on it…
